Talyaa Vardar, MCC is a Turkish-Canadian executive coach, expressive arts therapist, author, and columnist. She is a co-founder of the FLOW Coaching Institute, a coach training organization established in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2009 and later headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, and the developer of the five-step "Flow Coaching" methodology, which applies the psychology of flow to professional coaching.[1][2]
Education
[edit]Vardar earned a BSc in Public Administration from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, and an MA in Expressive Arts Therapy and Social Change from the European Graduate School in Switzerland.[1] She completed her professional coach training in Vancouver, Canada, in 2008 and holds the Master Certified Coach (MCC) credential from the International Coaching Federation.[3]
Career
[edit]Vardar began her career in marketing and communications, working in Europe and North America with companies including Procter & Gamble, Grey Worldwide, and WPP Group.[4] In 2009 she co-founded the FLOW Coaching Institute, an International Coaching Federation–accredited coach training school, where she serves as programs director and lead faculty.[2]
She has taught in executive education programs, including as an international faculty member at ISTUD Business School in Italy and as part-time faculty in the Executive MBA program at Koç University in Istanbul, and has served on the board of the International Coaching Federation's Toronto chapter.[3] She writes as a columnist for Harvard Business Review Türkiye.[5]
In the Turkish press, Vardar has been cited as a coaching and workplace-psychology expert on subjects including coaching industry standards, crisis-era employee management, workplace personality types, and art therapy.[6][7][8][9] Her book was also profiled in the Kelebek supplement of Hürriyet.[10]
