Talat Majid Alie is an Indian politician from Jammu and Kashmir. He contested the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly election from the Pulwama Assembly constituency as an independent candidate backed by Jamaat-e-Islami.[1]
Political career
[edit]Alie was previously associated with Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir. In 2024, he contested the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly election as an independent candidate from Pulwama.[2]

[edit]Alie contested the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly election from Pulwama as an independent candidate. He received 1,833 votes and finished third in the constituency.[3]
His candidacy was covered by several news organisations, including Moneycontrol and Kashmir Observer, which reported on his background, association with Jamaat-e-Islami and campaign in Pulwama.[4][5]
Justice and Development Front
[edit]Following the 2024 assembly election, Alie became associated with the Justice and Development Front. The organisation was formed by Jamaat-backed candidates and other political figures following the election.[6]
