Draft:Sunil Ambekar

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sunil Ambekar (born 26 December 1967) is an Indian author and a senior functionary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).[1] He currently serves as the Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh (All India Publicity Chief) of the RSS, a position he assumed in March 2021.[2]

Early life and organizational career

[edit]

Ambekar was born on 26 December 1967 in Nagpur, Maharashtra, where he completed his early education and earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Zoology.[1]

He was actively involved with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing affiliated with the RSS. Ambekar served as the National Organizing Secretary of the ABVP for 16 years, from 2003 to 2019.[3] During his tenure, the organization expanded its presence across Indian educational institutions. In 2019, he was inducted into the All India Executive Committee of the RSS.[3]

In 2020, Ambekar was appointed as the Sah-Prachar Pramukh (Joint Publicity Chief) of the RSS.[4] Subsequently, during the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) meeting in March 2021, he was elevated to Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh, succeeding Arun Kumar and taking charge of the organization's media and public relations.[2]

Publications and views

[edit]

Ambekar is the author of the 2019 book The RSS: Roadmaps for the 21st Century, published by Rupa Publications. The book outlines the ideological perspective of the RSS and presents a detailed roadmap for Indian society, including proposed revamps to the education sector and the reclamation of Indian history.[5] The book's launch in October 2019 was presided over by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, generating significant media coverage regarding the organization's future policies on social issues.[6]
