Spider-Man 4: Fan Film, also known as Spider-Man 4, is an upcoming American independent superhero fan film which is the unofficial continuation of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007), based on the cancelled film of the same name[1] and the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. Produced by High Mountain Studios and Franklin/Husser Entertainment, and distributed by High Mountain Studios, it was directed by Erik Franklin and written by Harley Pettus, Bryn Clayton Jones and William McCarthy from a story conceived by Clayton Jones and Pettus. The film stars Clayton Jones as Peter Parker, alongside Courtney (CJ), Eric Manix, Mandi Huffman, Brandon Melo, Alice Bridgforth, Danny Malo, Tommy Driver, Ed Edica, Erik Franklin, and Bill Read Jr.
Set after the events of Spider-Man 3, the plotline follows Peter during an particularly difficult period in his life with his relationship with Mary Jane Watson increasingly rockier than ever after he is being evicted from his apartment, and his internship at Fisk Industries abruptly ends when his new mentor, Adrian Toomes, is fired from his employment. Meanwhile, an mysterious thief named Black Cat shows up to further complicate his personal and superhero life. The film has no association with neither Sony Pictures nor Marvel Studios, and was funded by fans via an Kickstarter campaign.

Production
[edit]Sometime after the cancellation of Spider-Man 4 by Sony Pictures Entertainment in January 2010,[1] it was announced that the development for an continuation of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007) was underway by a small studio in Seattle called High Mountain Studios.[2] The film was funded by fans through a campaign on Kickstarter, modestly raising it to just over $11,015.[2][3][4][5] According to independent filmmaker Erik Franklin, he was "extremely excited" and described the opportunity to provide in a Spider-Man project as a "dream come true".[6]
