Sofia Maffeis (born 2 January 2022) is Italian individual rhythmic gymnast and group rhythmic gymnast. On national level, she is the 2022 Italian National All-around bronze medalist.

Her mother Liudmila Sevastianova is a rhythmic gymnastics coach from Russia.

Career

She took up gymnastics at the age of 5 because of her grandmother.[1]

In 2019, she made her senior international debut at Kiev Grand Prix and finished on 13th place in all-around. She also took 6th place in hoop final.[2] In April, she competed Tashkent World Cup and took 19th place in all-around. Later, she also competed at World Challenge Cup in Cluj-Napoca and ended on 21st place in all-around. She suffered ankle injury right before Italian National Championship and took 7th place in all-around.[3] Sofia represented Italy at the 2019 World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan together with Milena Baldassarri, Alessia Russo and Alexandra Agiurgiuculese. Italy placed 4th in the team competition.

She took 4th place in all-around at the 2021 Italian National Championship.[4]

In 2022, she competed at Palaio Faliro World Cup and ended on 15th place in all-around. She won bronze medal in all-around behind Sofia Raffaeli and Milena Baldassarri at Italian National Championship.[5]

In 2025, she competed at the Summer Universiade, where she took 7th place in the all-around and 7th place in ball final.[6]

In 2026, she joined national senior group alongside Alexandra Naclerio, Giulia Segatori, Lorjen D'Ambrogio, Sofia Colombo and Alessia Rigato. In early April they debuted on international level at Grand Prix Thiais. They took 12th place in all-around due to big mistakes in mixed apparatus routine.[7] Next weekend, they took 8th place in all-around at World Cup Tashkent.[8] In June, they competed at World Challenge Cup Cluj-Napoca and took 9th place in all-around. They placed 5th in 5 balls final.[9]
