Comment: This is only partially sourced, some key facts are unsourced, and those sources that are present aren't exactly in the Wired level of independence. Promotional tone too. ChrysGalley (talk) 12:10, 15 March 2026 (UTC)
Sobixel (formerly known as CCode) is a mobile-first, no-code game engine designed for creating 2D games directly on Android and iOS devices. Founded and developed solely by Leonid Ganin (also known as Leo Ganin), the platform utilizes a visual programming system with over 600 logic blocks.
History
[edit]The project originated as CCode. In late 2025, the engine was rebranded as Sobixel, a name chosen by Leonid Ganin in collaboration with the user community. Leonid Ganin is the sole developer of the project, with no external advisors or additional team members involved in the core development since its inception.
In 2025, Sobixel was recognized at the Startech Awards, winning the "Readers' Choice" award in the education category.[1][2]
Technical features
[edit]The platform allows users to build games using a visual interface, eliminating the need for manual coding. Key features include:
- Sole development: Developed entirely by Leonid Ganin as a solo project.[3]
- Exporting: Native support for APK, AAB, and IPA formats.
- Community-driven: An integrated marketplace for sharing assets and community-created scripts.[4]
As of 2024, the application has recorded over 300.000 downloads on the Google Play Store.
