Simbarashe "Simba" Siraha (born 6 February 2003) is a Zimbabwean international rugby union player who plays as a lock for the Spanish club Gernika RT in the División de Honor B and the Zimbabwe national rugby union team (the Sables). Standing at 1.94 metres and weighing 98 kg, he provides a highly athletic and mobile presence in the second row, widely recognized for his high defensive work rate and lineout capabilities.[1]

Club career

[edit]

Siraha relocated to Europe to join the competitive Spanish rugby union league system, signing with Basque Country-based club Gernika Rugby Taldea (Gernika RT). Playing in Spain's national divisions, he developed his specialized skills as a primary lineout winning option and front-row scrum auxiliary.[2]

International career

[edit]

Siraha made his senior international test debut for the Zimbabwe Sables during the 2024 international calendar. He was part of the squad that captured the historic Rugby Africa Cup title in July 2024, helping Zimbabwe secure a pathway toward eventual qualification for the 2027 Rugby World Cup. In June 2026, he was named by Head Coach Pieter Benade to the traveling 33-man national squad ahead of the World Rugby Nations Cup tournament in the United States.[3] He was named as a tactical replacement forward on the team sheet for the tournament's high-profile opening fixtures.
