Sigma Group is a privately held manufacturing company based in Livonia, Michigan. The company developed from Sigma International, an automotive trim supplier, and operates in decorative trim, integrated lighting, printed circuit board assembly, electronics manufacturing services, and related manufacturing programs.[1][2]
History
[edit]Sigma International was launched in 2003. In 2022, DBusiness described the company as an automotive trim supplier with operations in the United States, South Korea, India and China, and as a developer and manufacturer of decorative and dynamic automotive trim.[1]
In 2019, Sigma International acquired a majority interest in CINOS, a LED lighting supplier based in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.[3][4] The acquisition was presented as an expansion of Sigma's automotive lighting and dynamic-interior capabilities.[3] Coverage of the transaction reported that CINOS would continue operating under its existing brand in South Korea and that future facilities in India and China were expected to be co-branded with Sigma International and CINOS.[5]
In January 2020, DBusiness reported that Livonia-based Sigma International had formalized an alliance with Plymouth, Michigan-based Atra Plastics to develop next-generation automotive trim components, including dynamic trim and smart-decoration systems.[6] The article reported that Sigma offered lighting, specialty coatings, smart surfaces and haptic sensors, and that its products were used in brands including Jeep, Subaru, Cadillac, Lincoln and Hyundai-Kia.[6]
In May 2022, Christopher Naidoo, founder and chairman of Sigma Holdings Group in Livonia, reached an agreement to acquire Adam Electronics, an electronics manufacturing company in Madison Heights, Michigan.[1] DBusiness reported that Adam Electronics specialized in custom box build solutions, circuit board assemblies and engineering services, and that the acquisition was intended to expand U.S. manufacturing capacity and support electronics work in automotive, consumer and industrial markets.[1]
In September 2023, Adam Electronics acquired MADE Electronics, an electronics company in Auburn Hills, Michigan.[7] DBusiness reported that MADE would operate as "MADE Electronics, an Adam Electronics Company" and described Adam's family of companies as including Sigma International.[7]
Sigma Group's company history states that Adam Electronics and MADE were later unified under the Sigma brand in 2025 to form a dedicated electronics platform focused on original design manufacturing, electronics manufacturing services, printed circuit board assembly, lighting systems and integrated product execution.[2]
In July 2025, Korean business publications reported that Hyundai Corporation had agreed to acquire a 77.6 percent stake in Sigma Co., Ltd., a South Korean automotive interior lighting and components company, for 52.3 billion won.[8][9] The reports described the South Korean Sigma business as a supplier of door lights, ambient lighting and electronic components for Hyundai Motor Company and Kia vehicle models.[8][9] Sigma Group's own company history identifies the business involved in the Hyundai transaction as the former CINOS business and says it was later renamed LuciNova.[2]
Operations
[edit]Sigma Group describes its business as divided between electronics manufacturing and decorative and integrated systems.[2] Its electronics work includes printed circuit board assembly, lighting systems, box build, electronics manufacturing services and original design manufacturing.[2] Its decorative and integrated systems work includes chrome plating, physical vapor deposition coatings, paint, graphics, injection molding, assembly and electronics integration.[2]
The company's facility list includes locations in Livonia, Auburn Hills and Madison Heights in Michigan, as well as locations in Seoul, South Korea, and Pune, India.[2] Its Livonia site is listed as the company's headquarters, manufacturing facility and technical center.[2]
