Sarah Weeger (born Sarah Hudson) is an American publisher, entrepreneur, and former Division I collegiate volleyball player based in the Normandy Park area of South King County, Washington. She is the publisher of Normandy Park Living, a monthly hyperlocal community magazine serving Normandy Park, Washington, that launched in January 2026 through Best Version Media.[1]
Early life and family
[edit]Weeger was born and raised in Fountain Valley, California – the youngest of eight children. Her brother Luke Hudson pitched in Major League Baseball for the Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Royals from 2002 to 2007.[2] Her father Bill Hudson is a retired aerospace engineer and professional watercolor artist.[3] She married Ryan Weeger in 2009. The couple have a daughter, Hudson, and reside in the Greater Seattle area of Washington.
Athletics
[edit]Weeger played volleyball growing up and later at Golden West College, where she was part of back-to-back undefeated seasons and state championships in 2003 and 2004, earning first-team all-conference and all-state tournament honors in 2004. She then transferred to California State University, Long Beach, where she played defensive specialist (No. 6) for the Beach's Division I women's volleyball program, graduating in 2007.[4]
She also appeared as a contestant on the ABC game show Wipeout, Season 4, Episode 12.[5]
Career
[edit]Weeger began her entrepreneurial career as a graphic designer, founding a freelance design studio later rebranded as GREAT 8 CREATIVE, a Seattle-based design and web development company that specialized in helping athletes, coaches, and trainers with their online visibility via custom WordPress websites.[6]
In 2019 she launched Hey Weegs, a greeting card company for which she writes and illustrates all designs. The line grew out of her experience with postpartum depression and anxiety after the birth of her daughter, and specializes in cards for real-life situations that often get overlooked by mainstream card companies.[7][8]
In 2026 she launched Normandy Park Living in partnership with Best Version Media, covering local residents, businesses, and community events in the South King County, Washington area.[9]
