Dr. Santhosh Joseph MD, FRCP is an Indian interventional radiologist and neurointervention specialist who serves as Senior Consultant and Clinical Lead in Neuro Interventional Radiology at Kimshealth Trivandrum. [1]
Early life and education
[edit]Dr. Santhosh was born in Kerala and completed his MBBS and internship at Medical College, Trivandrum. He obtained DMRD from Medical College, Calicut and MD in Radiology from Medical College, Trivandrum. [1]
Career
[edit]Dr. Santhosh worked in radiology and interventional services at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram, and later served as Professor and Head of Neuroradiology and Neurointervention at Sree Ramachandra Medical College (SRMC), Chennai. He joined KIMSHEALTH, Trivandrum as Senior Consultant and Clinical Lead — Neuro Interventional Radiology in 2022.[1]
Clinical work and research
[edit]Dr. Santhosh's clinical practice includes diagnostic and therapeutic cerebral and peripheral angiography, aneurysm coiling (including balloon- and stent-assisted techniques and flow diverters), arteriovenous malformation embolization with liquid embolics (Onyx, etc.), carotid stenting, mechanical thrombectomy for ischemic stroke, pediatric neurointerventions, and spinal vascular procedures. He also performs a wide range of vascular and non-neuro interventional procedures such as aortic stent grafting, peripheral angioplasty and stenting, uterine artery embolization, transarterial chemoembolization (TACE/TARE), and biliary interventions. [1]
Dr. Santhosh has presented multiple research papers at national and international conferences. He has served as chairperson and faculty at professional meetings, including sessions listed in the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR) programme.[2]
Professional memberships and honours
[edit]Dr. Santhosh has been conferred the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP).[3]
Dr. Santhosh is a life member of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) and is listed as a founder member of the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR) and the Indian Society of Neuroradiology (ISNR). He is also a member of the Indian Medical Association and the Neurological Society of India.
