Samira Ismailova (also spelled Ismoilova; born 29 June 2007) is an Uzbekistani road and track cyclist.[1] She competes for the 7 Saber Uzbekistan Women Cycling Team and the Uzbekistan national cycling team under head coach Gleb Groysman.[2]
In 2025, Ismailova set a junior world record in the women's 3000 m individual pursuit.[3] In 2026, she won the under-23 road race title at the Asian Cycling Championships.[4]
Career
[edit]Ismailova started cycling in Tashkent during her early youth and was selected into the national development system due to her performances in regional youth sports schools.[5]
2024
[edit]At the 2024 Asian Road Cycling Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Ismailova competed as a junior. She won the silver medal in the junior women's individual time trial finish behind Mariya Elkina.[6] She won another silver medal in the junior mixed relay event.[7] On the track, she placed third in the junior omnium at the Asian Track Cycling Championships.
2025
[edit]During the 2025 Asian Track Cycling Championships in Malaysia, Ismailova won the gold medal in the junior individual pursuit. During the event, she registered a time of 3:46.800 in the 3000 m distance, establishing a new junior world record and Asian record.[3][8] She also won the gold medal in the junior omnium and secured two bronze medals in the points race and the madison event alongside N. Barteneva.[9]
Later that year at the Asian Road Cycling Championships, she won the junior individual time trial and the junior mixed relay title. In September 2025, she was selected to represent Uzbekistan at the UCI Road World Championships in Kigali, Rwanda.[10]
2026
[edit]In February 2026, Ismailova moved up to the under-23 category at the Asian Road Cycling Championships held in Saudi Arabia.[11] She secured the gold medal in the women's under-23 road race event, finishing the 109.2 km course ahead of Hong Kong's Tsz Yau Ngai.[4]
