Sam Tullen is a British documentary filmmaker, director, and producer.
Career
[edit]Sam Tullen began his career with the 2023 docu-reality series The Tooth Doctors, which was the first original series released by the YouTube channel DOCO.[1][2]
In 2024, Tullen produced and directed Hanna Kinsella: Little Smiles, which investigated the children’s oral health crisis in the United Kingdom.[3] The film was presented by The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Hanna Kinsella and received coverage for highlighting the lack of public access to NHS dental care.[4][5]
His documentary The AI Face Trade was released in 2025. The film received significant media coverage for its investigation into people selling their face and likeness to AI, and the ethics of biometric data.[6] The film's subjects reported receiving payment of £1,500 in exchange for the rights to their face and likeness for use by AI companies indefinitely.[7][8][9][10]
In 2026, Tullen produced and directed Generation Lonely, a documentary exploring the loneliness epidemic rife among Gen Z, and the alarming use of AI chatbots like ChatGPT as a coping mechanism.[11][12][13][14]
In May 2026, it was announced that Tullen would produce and present a new YouTube format titled Disclosed, described as an investigative "internet sleuthing" series.[15][16] The first episode investigated AI-generated health misinformation and online content farms that distribute misleading health advice.[17]
