SOLS Energy (SOLS Energy Sdn Bhd; SSM: 1221307-W) is a Malaysian residential and commercial solar energy company headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Founded by Raj Ridvan Singh and incorporated in 2017, the company installs grid-connected rooftop solar systems, off-grid solar for indigenous communities, and runs renewable energy training programmes. It operates as a subsidiary of SOLS 24/7 Group and holds Systems Integrator accreditation from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia.
History
[edit]SOLS Energy Sdn Bhd was incorporated in Malaysia in 2017 under SSM registration number 1221307-W. The company operates as a subsidiary of SOLS 24/7 Group, which works across education, renewable energy, and community development in Malaysia.
In July 2020, Petronas Ventures, the venture capital arm of Petronas, invested in SOLS Energy. The investment recognised the company as a high-potential solar startup in the Malaysian market.[1][2]
In February 2024, SOLS Energy launched a Home Solar Subscription programme in partnership with Gentari, a Petronas subsidiary. The programme allows residential customers to install solar panels with no upfront payment.[3][4]
In May 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof named SOLS Energy as one of three private sector partners in the government's Solar Boleh! programme, alongside AEON Group and Bank Simpanan Nasional. The programme operates under the Solar@Petra Initiative to expand residential solar access across Malaysia.[5]
By February 2026, the company reported completing over 3,400 residential solar installations and deploying more than 30 megawatts of solar capacity since 2015. Installations were carried out in collaboration with Social Empresa, a SOLS 24/7 Group entity specialising in solar installation services. This followed the implementation of Malaysia's Solar Accelerated Transition Action Programme (Solar ATAP), which came into effect on 1 January 2026. SOLS 24/7 deputy chief executive officer Jaran Walia said the company was investing in workforce capability to support Solar ATAP implementation. "If Malaysia wants rooftop solar to scale well, the industry needs a strong pipeline of trained installers and delivery teams," Walia said.[6]
Operations
[edit]SOLS Energy operates across several service segments. Its Green Homes division installs grid-connected solar PV systems for residential properties, registered under Malaysia's Solar ATAP programme. Its Green Business division serves commercial and industrial clients. Installations are carried out in collaboration with Social Empresa, a SOLS 24/7 Group entity.
The company's Green Impact programme, named Power To Empower, installs off-grid pico solar systems for Orang Asli communities in rural Malaysia without access to the electricity grid. Under the programme, each residential solar installation funds a corresponding off-grid unit for an Orang Asli household.[7]
SOLS Energy also supports the Solar Academy programme run by SOLS Foundation. The initiative trains and certifies solar PV technicians, with a focus on employment pathways for youth from low-income families.[8]
Social Impact
[edit]SOLS Energy allocates 30% of its net profits to SOLS Foundation, the non-profit arm of SOLS 24/7 Group. The foundation runs education, boarding, and community empowerment programmes for low-income and indigenous communities in Malaysia.[9]
