SADAD Payment Solutions (commonly known as SADAD) is a Qatari payment processor. It is chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Fahd bin Mohammed Al Thani.[1][2]

SADAD is connected to the country’s national payment infrastructure, including the National ATM and POS Switch (NAPS) and QPay; it also holds memberships with Visa and Mastercard.[3][4][5][6]

History

[edit]

SADAD was founded in 2018.[2] It initially focused on online payment processing and later expanded its services to include additional electronic payment solutions, including point-of-sale solutions and and online invoicing systems.[7][8][9]

In 2020, SADAD  partnered with the acquiring banks in the country to launch a payment acquiring platform following regulatory approvals by the Qatar Central Bank.[3] [5]

In 2022, SADAD  and the Qatar National Bank (QNB) announced a partnership related to the development of electronic payment services in Qatar.[10]

In February 2025, SADAD and Mastercard announced a partnership focused on expanding digital payment acceptance in the country.[4]

Partnerships

[edit]

SADAD has entered into partnerships with financial institutions and payment networks operating in Qatar. These include collaborations with local banks and international payment providers to support electronic payment services.[4][10][11][12]

Awards and recognition

[edit]

In 2022, the company received the "SME Excellence" award for small and medium-sized enterprises from Qatar Development Bank.[13]
