Ryusei Azemoto (born 3 October 1995) is a Japanese professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He has represented Japan at the PDC World Cup of Darts.
Career
[edit]In 2023, Azemoto reached the semi-finals of the Asian Championship, where he lost to Sandro Eric Sosing. He won four tournaments on the Asian Tour in 2024. (event 8, 9, 12 and 19). This qualified him for the 2024 PDC World Cup of Darts and 2025 PDC World Darts Championship via his Asian Tour ranking. Together with Tomoya Gotō, he represented Japan. In the group stage they started against the Australian team of Damon Heta and Simon Whitlock. They lost 4–3 in a deciding leg after missing several match darts. They also lost to Hong Kong 1–4 and were eliminated after finishing bottom of the group. At the World Championship he lost first round match against Wesley Plaisier 2–3 in sets.
On 9 May 2025, Azemoto won the Selangor Open in Malaysia, a bronze ranked World Darts Federation (WDF) tournament, with a 5–3 victory over Haikal Rusli. At the 2025 WDF World Cup at the end of September, he reached the semi-finals together with Yuichiro Ogawa in the doubles. There they lost to the eventual winners Daniele Petri and Alex Bassetti from Italy with 4–5 in a deciding leg. In the team competition, Japan reached the final.
