Rodney Goliath (born 23 October 2001), professionally known as Rotas The Rapper, is a South African rapper, actor, and songwriter. He is known for his participation in Emo Adams reality programme Maak My Famous, his role as Gio Lobberts in the soap opera Arendsvlei, and his appearance in the Showmax film Finding Optel.
Career
[edit]Rotas began writing in 2015 and recorded his first songs in 2017.[1] In 2020, he participated in the second season of the kykNET programme Maak My Famous, where his original song Dankie vir die Pyn received attention.
In August 2020, he performed at the KKNK Mothership Sessions alongside Emo Adams and Omar Adams.[2] In 2023, he completed a degree in Drama and Theatre Studies at Stellenbosch University.[1]
Acting
[edit]Rotas portrays the role of Gio Lobberts in the sixth season of the kykNET soap opera Arendsvlei.[3]
He also appeared in the Showmax film Finding Optel, which was screened at the Silwerskermfees. The film also features actors such as Mikayla Brown, Zenobia Kloppers and Maurice Paige.[4]
