Reallusion Inc. is a software company that develops 2D and 3D animation, digital human creation, motion capture, and real-time filmmaking tools. The company is best known for its animation software iClone, character-generation platform Character Creator, and 2D animation software Cartoon Animator.[1][2]
Founded in 2000, Reallusion operates in Taiwan and the United States, focusing on software pipelines for independent filmmakers, animation studios, educators, and game developers.[3]
History
[edit]Reallusion was founded in 2000 as a developer of animation and multimedia software.[3] The company initially focused on facial animation and avatar technologies before expanding into real-time 3D animation systems.[4]
In 2005, Reallusion released iClone, a real-time 3D animation and machinima production platform.[5] The software later evolved into a broader production suite incorporating motion capture, facial animation, lip-sync, and cinematic rendering tools.[6]
During the 2010s and 2020s, Reallusion expanded its ecosystem with Character Creator, Cartoon Animator, and cloud-based asset services including ActorCore.[1][2]
