Rashida Seriki (born 27 February 1996) is a British-Nigerian writer and filmmaker raised in Hampstead, London.[1] She gained significant industry recognition early in her career when her debut short film,[2] The Fence (2018), won both the Future Film Lab Award and the BFI Patron's New Talent Award[3] at the BFI Future Film Festival.

Her 2024 short film Leaving Ikorodu in 1999[4] has screened at over 20 film festivals worldwide and won the City of Melbourne Grand Prix[5] at the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) 2025, an award that qualifies the film for consideration for the Academy Awards Best Live Action Short Film 2026. As a television writer, Seriki has contributed to We Are Lady Parts[9] (Channel 4/Peacock) https://www.indiewire.com/features/interviews/we-are-lady-parts-nida-manzoor-season-2-1235011164/ and EastEnders (BBC), and received a nomination for the All3Media Edinburgh TV Festival[10] New Voice Award. She was featured on ELLE's Women in Film and Television Power List[11] and holds a Masters in Black British Literature. She has multiple feature films currently in development.[12]
