Quantum Health is a healthcare navigation and care coordination organization located in Dublin, Ohio.
History
Quantum Health was founded in 1999 by Kara Trott. The company provides healthcare navigation and care coordination services to self-insured employers and their employees.[1]
Prior to founding Quantum Health, Trott worked as a corporate attorney at Columbus, Ohio-based law firm Bricker Graydon Wyatt LLP and as a strategic marketing consultant for RPA International. The development of Quantum Health followed a two-year research study involving approximately 3,200 patients and nearly 300 physicians. The research examined how consumers interacted with the healthcare system and identified points in the healthcare journey where earlier intervention and coordination could potentially improve outcomes and reduce costs.
The findings contributed to the development of Quantum Health’s care coordination model, and proprietary early intervention platform solution known as Real-Time Intercept® (RTI). The solution is designed to identify opportunities for early and continuous intervention during a member’s healthcare journey and coordinate interactions among members, healthcare providers, health plans and employers before conditions become acute, costly events.[2]
Quantum Health began with approximately 30 employees serving 10,000 members. The company has since grown to more than 2,200 employees and serves more than 500 self-insured employer clients and more than 20 million members. Its services provide members with a single point of contact for healthcare navigation and care coordination, incorporating member support, clinical expertise, technology and data analytics.
Acquisitions
In 2025, Quantum Health acquired Embold Health, a physician-founded healthcare analytics company that evaluates healthcare provider quality and performance.[3] In 2026, Quantum Health also acquired CirrusMD, a virtual care platform that connects patients with physicians through text-based consultations.[4]
The acquisitions expanded Quantum Health’s services to include virtual care and provider-quality analytics alongside its healthcare navigation and care coordination services. Through its integrated platform, the company provides members with healthcare navigation, clinical support, virtual care and information intended to help them identify appropriate healthcare providers.
Operations
Headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, Quantum Health employs 2,200 staff.
Partnerships
Quantum Health’s partner ecosystem integrates specialized healthcare services into its navigation and care coordination platform. The company’s Centers of Excellence program connects members with specialty care networks, including Carrum Health and Lantern, for complex and high-cost procedures. Quantum Health also partners with Scripta Insights for pharmacy navigation and prescription decision support and with Aradigm for specialty pharmacy and cell and gene therapy management. Its broader partner ecosystem includes organizations providing behavioral health, musculoskeletal care, expert medical opinions, digestive health, women’s health and other specialized services.[5]
Leadership
In January 2025, Dayne Williams became the chief executive officer of Quantum Health and joined its board of directors, succeeding Zane Burke.[6] Prior to joining Quantum Health, Williams was the founder, CEO and executive chairman of PlanSource, a benefits technology company that provides benefits administration services to employers. He also previously served as CEO of CoAdvantage, a professional employer organization providing payroll, benefits administration and other workforce services. Williams has more than 25 years of leadership experience across the benefits technology, insurance and workforce services industries.
