Preeta Verma is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1991 batch belonging to the Bihar cadre. She has held several senior positions in the Bihar Police and the Government of India. In September 2026, she was given additional charge as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar, during the absence of the incumbent DGP. She is among the senior-most serving IPS officers of the Bihar cadre.[1][2][3]
Awards and honours
[edit]In 2023, she was awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service. The Ministry of Home Affairs' official list identifies her as DG (Training), Bihar, at the time of the award.[4][5]
