Niloy Roy (WBSFS) is working as a Forest range officer [1] under Department of Forests (West Bengal) [2].He also enjoys a distinct reputation as a poet, writer, and researcher. He previously gained work experience at ONGC and the Zoological Survey of India under the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) project.
Early life
[edit]Born into a Bengali Hindu family in 1992, Niloy Roy from Kolkata. Completing his Higher Secondary education at Ramakrishna Mission Siksha Mandir, Sarisha, he went on to earn his bachelor's and master's degrees from Scottish Church College and Raja Peary Mohan College (Uttarpara), respectively.
Notable works
[edit]1) A Videography with Niloy Roy about Human-wildlife conflict সোনামুখী জঙ্গল সাফারি উইথ সুজয়নীল (Travel with Sujoyneel) by famous youtube platform Ultimad Motivation has received praise from everyone in several social media platform. [3] It is a reliable informative documentary about Human - Elephant co existance in Bankura Forest as well as in Rarh region.
2) Among his various initiatives as a Forest Department official, the provision of alternative food sources for wild Indian elephant through large-scale Fodder plantation programs [4] and the Plant propagation activities of Rare species and Endangered species are particularly noteworthy. [5]
3) Notable among various Wildlife conservation efforts are projects involving the rare Hooded Grasshopper [6] or Teratodes [7] and the rescue of the rare Steppe Eagle[8] [9] as well as work on the Drosera [10] [11]-a species relatively unfamiliar in the Rarh region of South Bengal.
4) A Poem describing Childhood nostalgia (Ekhane ekta Math chilo) এখানে একটা মাঠ ছিলো, has become very famous and published by Studio Icchedana in several social media platform. [12]
5) Poems like 'Mirror in the Storm' (ঝড়ের সময়ের আয়না) [13], 'While against the Light' (আলোর বিপরীতে কিছুক্ষণ) [14], 'Stories of silence' (নৈ:শব্দ্যের গল্পগুচ্ছ) [15], 'The Tale of an Inept Poet' (অপটু কবির উপাখ্যান) [16] etc. have created quite a stir among readers.
6) Several research papers and journal about Forestry in India [17], Forest people [18] [19] and several forest species [20] have been wrote by Niloy Roy which are already published.
