NewMedia is a creative technology studio specializing in immersive audiovisual experiences, fulldome shows and 3D projection mapping. The studio applies technology to live events and immersive installations and has developed projects internationally.
History
[edit]The studio was active in Madrid by 2013, when it produced the Audi A3 Sportback launch experience in Madrid and Barcelona.[1] In 2014, NewMedia received a Gold Award at the Eventoplus Awards for the technical production of the Audi A3 Sportback experience.[2][3] In 2015, the studio worked on immersive productions for Iberia Express and HP Inc.[4][5] In 2016, NewMedia co-organized Immersive Festival Madrid with FDDB.org and the Complutense University of Madrid, described by Digital AV Magazine as the first event of its kind in Spain.[6]
NewMedia designed a permanent 3D projection-mapping installation at the Melody Maker Hotel in Cancún, Mexico. The installation covered approximately 7,000 square metres of the hotel's façade and used 16 projectors.[7]
NewMedia and the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) developed a project called DOMO 360 in Madrid in 2020, a permanent immersive venue based on a 22-meter geodesic dome with an internal projection system providing a 360-degree fulldome experience.[8][9]
In 2022, NewMedia won a tender to produce a 3D projection-mapping installation on Beverly Hills City Hall. The project was subsequently covered by the Argentine newspaper Clarín.[10]
In 2026, NewMedia designed and launched the MetaHuman Choir at IMEX Frankfurt. The project is an AI-driven interactive experience based on digital characters, or MetaHumans. BizBash featured the project in its coverage of new event technology.[11]
