Nayanamana Samarasinghe

Nayanamana Samarasinghe is a computer scientist whose research has been published in peer-reviewed venues in the areas of web security, online privacy, and Internet measurements.

He completed a PhD in Information and Systems Engineering[1] at Concordia University, Canada.

Education

Samarasinghe earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Colombo,[2] a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa,[3] and a PhD in Information and Systems Engineering from Concordia University.[4]

He also holds a Diploma in Banking and Finance from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.[5]

Research

Samarasinghe’s research focuses on web tracking,[6] cloaking in malicious websites,[7] and privacy and security measurement of websites and mobile applications.[8][9]

His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, including Computers & Security, the ACM Web Conference (WWW),[8][10] and the APWG Symposium on Electronic Crime Research.[11][12]

His doctoral research examined measurement-based approaches to online tracking and cloaking behavior in web applications.[1]

He has also contributed to studies relating to vulnerabilities in transport layer security (TLS) deployments in networked devices and websites,[13] as well as privacy risks in government websites and mobile applications.[8][14]
