[edit]Navinkumar Palanivel is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works primarily in Tamil cinema. He made his feature film directorial debut with the suspense thriller Kadaisi Thotta (2025) before gaining wider recognition for directing the ZEE5 crime series Thadayam (2026).
Early Life and Career
Navinkumar Palanivel began his career in the Tamil film industry as a screenwriter and director. He made his directorial debut with the crime mystery thriller film Kadaisi Thotta, released on February 28, 2025. Produced by RVR Studios, the film starred Radha Ravi, Vanitha Vijayakumar, and Shreekumar. Cinematographer Mohankumar Palanivel and Set in a Kodaikanal resort, the plot revolves around a honeymooning couple who inadvertently witness a murder, setting off a dangerous cat-and-mouse game.
In 2026, Navinkumar Palanivel directed the ZEE5 true-crime thriller series Thadayam, produced by Ajey Krishna under Cocktail Cinemas. Starring P. Samuthirakani and Sshivada, and Dop KK and Mohankumar Palanivel and the series was based on a real-life investigation into ritualistic midnight murders along the Tamil Nadu–Andhra Pradesh border in 1999.
