Navinkumar Palanivel (credited as Navin Kumar) is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in Tamil cinema. He made his feature film directorial debut with the suspense thriller film Kadaisi Thotta (2025) before writing and directing the ZEE5 true-crime series Thadayam (2026).[1]
Career
[edit]Navinkumar Palanivel began his career in the Tamil film industry as a screenwriter and filmmaker. He made his feature film directorial debut with the mystery thriller Kadaisi Thotta, released in February 2025.[2] Produced by RVR Studios, the film starred Radha Ravi, Vanitha Vijayakumar, and Shreekumar,[2]
In 2026, Navinkumar Palanivel wrote and directed the ZEE5 original true-crime thriller series Thadayam, produced by Ajey Krishna under Cocktail Cinemas.[1] Starring P. Samuthirakani and Sshivada, the series is inspired by real-life police investigations into serial murders along the Tamil Nadu–Andhra Pradesh border in 1999.[3] The series premiered on 27 February 2026.[1]
