Moshy Habibu Msangi
[edit]Media Professional | Research & Data Collection Specialist | Public Health Field Researcher | Sociologist
Moshy Habibu Msangi, also known professionally as Glory Msangi, is a Tanzanian media professional, researcher and field data collection specialist with experience spanning broadcasting, journalism, public health research, community-based studies and field team supervision.
Msangi began developing experience in radio broadcasting while still completing secondary education. She initially participated in radio broadcasting at Mwambao FM in Tanga before joining Clouds FM in 2010, where she worked in programme production and voice-over activities.
Her entry into professional broadcasting followed her reporting of a major security incident involving the robbery of NBC Bank in Ubungo, Dar es Salaam, in 2009. Her reporting from the scene attracted attention from media professionals and contributed to her subsequent opportunity to work with Clouds FM.
In 2016, Msangi pursued formal studies in journalism and broadcasting and obtained a certificate in the field. She also undertook training in Early Childhood Development (ECD) through Harvard-related training, and later completed a Bachelor's degree in Sociology in 2023. She additionally received computer training from Amazon College in Tanzania.
After her broadcasting career, Msangi transitioned into health research and field data collection. In 2017, she began working as a field interviewer/data collector with the Ifakara Health Institute (IHI), contributing to research studies involving communities across different regions of Tanzania.
Her research experience has included participation in public health studies and large-scale field projects, including measles-rubella-related research, Service Availability and Readiness Assessment (SARA), and a calcium supplementation study involving pregnant women. The calcium research examined lower-dose calcium supplementation during pregnancy and its potential role in reducing preeclampsia and preterm birth. The study involved institutions including Ifakara Health Institute, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Africa Academy for Public Health.
Msangi has also worked with the Africa Academy for Public Health (AAPH) and has continued to undertake research assignments on a project-by-project basis, including returning to IHI for specific studies and field assignments.
In 2025, she expanded her professional experience into team leadership and field marketing, working with AzamPesa as a supervisor. In this role, she supervised a team of approximately 25 people and coordinated field promotional activities designed to increase awareness and acquisition of new customers.
Her professional background therefore combines communication, journalism, field research, data collection, public health research, sociology, community engagement and team supervision.
Msangi continues to develop her professional career in research and public health-related fieldwork while building on her earlier experience in media and communications.
