Mohan Lal Banga is an Indian politician from Punjab. He served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Banga Assembly constituency.
Political career
[edit]Mohan Lal was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly from Banga, which is reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC), in 1997 as a candidate of the Shiromani 【entity-Akali¦canonical_name=Shiromani Akali Dal】 Dal."Banga Assembly constituency".
He was again elected from Banga in the 2007 Punjab Legislative Assembly election as a Shiromani 【entity-Akali¦canonical_name=Shiromani Akali Dal】 Dal candidate, becoming a member of the 13th Punjab Assembly."13th Punjab Assembly".
In the election records, he defeated Tarlochan Singh in 2007 and defeated Satnam Singh Kainth in 1997. He had also contested in 2002.
According to his public profile, he is a "2 times Mla from banga Punjab. PPSC member from 2014 to 15.""Mohan Lal Banga, Nawanshahr Doaba".
He later served as a member of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC). He resigned from the PPSC in 2015. The report noted: "The latest resignations came from Mohan Lal Banga, a former 【entity-Akali¦canonical_name=Shiromani Akali Dal】 MLA, who stepped down from the Punjab Public Services Commission"."Guru Granth Sahib Desecration - Protests Across Punjab".
For the 2022 Punjab Assembly election, he was fielded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Banga SC seat. Reports described him as "Former Congress MLA Mohan Lal Banga has been fielded from the Banga SC seat.""Punjab elections: Former ally SAD, ruling Congress party dominate BJP's first list".
