Mohammad Amzad is a Bangladeshi drummer and session musician. He is also associated with managing artists and organising events. He started his music career professionally in 1999 and has performed and worked with solo artists and bands including Cold J, Balam, Dhrubotara and Oyshee Express. In his career he has also performed on national and private television channels. Apart from managing artists and organising cultural and music events in Bangladesh and abroad, he was also involved in academic music teaching.
Career

Mohammad Amzad started working professionally in 1999. His career as a session musician began during that period and has continued to the present. After beginning his career as a session musician, he later joined the band Cold J, where he played from 2004 to 2009. During his time with Cold J, he was involved in two albums, Onek Kache and Chowa. Mohammad Amzad contributed to those released albums in 2004 and 2009.
Dhrubotara and other band work
[edit]Mohammad Amzad played with the band Dhrubotara from 2015 to 2017. During that period, he performed with the band led by award-winning singer and music director S I Tutul for approximately two and a half years. He was also associated with Prometheus and X-Uranium for separate projects.
Balam
[edit]Mohammad Amzad has performed with Balam, a former vocalist and guitarist of Ekushey Padak-winning Band Warfaze, currently pop musician from 2023 to present. Stage for Youth Multicultural Association Sweden states that Mohammad Amzad performed with Balam at Hallunda Folkets Hus in Stockholm on June 28, 2026. Mohammad Amzad joined with Balam for several performances in Bangladesh.
Oyshee Express
[edit]Mohammad Amzad joined Oyshee Express in 2025 and currently performs as the drummer and one of the core members of the band. As part of the lineup of Oyshee Express, Mohammad Amzad performed in Kuala Lumpur. His participation in the Kuala Lumpur performance was reported by independent media.[1][2]
Television and session work
[edit]Mohammad Amzad has appeared in various television channels' music program since 2012. A letter regarding Mohammad Amzad's performances on Boishakhi TV was issued on February 3, 2026. This letter also mentions from the broadcaster's end that Mohammad Amzad had been associated with the Boishakhi TV as a musician for both live and recorded musical programmes.
International Performances
[edit]Mohammad Amzad has performed professional in Thailand, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Canada, South Korea, Spain, Italy and Sweden. As a drummer for Oyshee Express, an independent newspaper coverage of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, mentioned Mohammad Amzad as part of the touring band.[1][2]
At the Ekaki Sweety Musical Festival in Toronto on September 21, 2025, a certificate was issued from Mixtape Experiential Inc., Canada.
Bangladesh Cultural Young Federation, Spain, records his contribution as a drummer at Bangladeshi Milon Mela 2025. This performance was staged in Barcelona.
In Sweden, the Stage for Youth recommendation records his performance with Balam in Stockholm on 28 June 2026.
Music Education
[edit]Mohammad Amzad worked as a music teacher at DPS STS School in Dhaka from 2010 to 2018.
Artist Management and Event Work
[edit]Alongside his work as a musician, Mohammad Amzad has also worked in artist management and event management related roles. He has also been credited as an Artist Manager in Coke Studio Bangla productions.[3]
Innovative Creation Limited issued a letter mentioning professional collaboration of Mohammad Amzad and the company in Artist-Management roles.
Hashtag Communication certified Mohammad Amzad, describing him as an Artist Manager.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy
[edit]At Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Mohammad Amzad had been working as a musician and drummer. A letter issued on March 2, 2023, identifies Mohammad Amzad's contribution to the government institution.

[edit]Mohammad Amzad collaborated with various artists like S I Tutul, Shakila Zafar, Nakul Kumar Biswas, Shithi Saha, Balam, Oyshee Express[1][2], Shawon Gaanwala, Konal, and Tahsan Khan[4].
He was the drummer of two bands, Cold J and Dhrubotara.
