Mike Isaacson
[edit]Mike Isaacson is an American theatrical producer. He serves as the Artistic Director and Executive producer of The Muny. [1] Isaacson is a 10-time Tony Award winner.[2]
Biography
[edit]Isaacson began his theatrical career at the Fox Theater where he oversaw the U.S. Bank Broadway Series. In addition to serving on the Board of Governors of the Broadway League, he was a founding member of the Independent Presenters Network. [3]
Isaacson served as a lead producer for Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron's Fun Home, which received the 2015 Tony Award for Best Musical.[4] With his producing partner, Kristin Caskey[5], he has also produced Thoroughly Modern Millie (2002 Tony Award for Best Musical), Legally Blonde the Musical, Red (2010 Tony Award for Best Play), Bring it On the Musical, and revivals of Neil Simon's Plaza Suite (starring Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker), Parade (starring Ben Platt and Micaela Diamond; Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical), The Last Five Years, The Wiz, and Gutenberg the Musical (starring Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells). Isaacson and Caskey recently produced David Byrne's American Utopia (which received a special Tony Award in 2021) and its Emmy Award-nominated HBO adaptation, directed by Spike Lee, for which Isaacson served as an executive producer. In 2012, Isaacson was named the Artistic Director and Executive Producer of The Muny[7]. He has led the institution for 15 seasons, producing 96 shows. Under his leadership, The Muny received the 2025 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theater. [8][9]
Isaacson holds a B.A. and M.B.A. from St. Louis University.[10]
