Midas is a fictional character from the 2017 video game Fortnite Battle Royale. His first appearance was in Fortnite: Chapter 2 Season 2, with him being tier 100 in the battle pass.[1] He was designed by Donald Mustard and developed by Epic Games.
Design
[edit]In 2020, Midas was created by the ex-story line director of Fortnite Battle Royale, Donald Mustard. Mustard based Midas' design on the mythological Greek king of Phrygia, who was able to turn whatever he touched into gold. In-game weapons, items, and vehicles turn gold for the duration of the match.[2]
Appearances
[edit]Midas has reappeared multiple times in later Fortnite seasons, such as Chapter 2 Season 4 (as Shadow Midas).[3]
