[edit]

Terry Overton was raised in North Shields, North Tyneside, England. He attended John Spence Community High School, where he was a schoolmate of singer-songwriter Sam Fender.[1]

Professional wrestling career

[edit]

Early career

[edit]

Overton began his involvement in professional wrestling in 2007, initially working as a referee in Newcastle. He later began training as a wrestler before taking a break from the sport.[1]

In 2012, Overton resumed training with RAD:PRO in South Shields. He made his professional wrestling debut in 2015 under the ring name Matty Mayhem.[1]

Mayhem subsequently competed for independent wrestling promotions across the United Kingdom and Ireland, including appearances associated with 5 Star Wrestling in 2018.[1]

5 Star Wrestling

[edit]

In 2018, Mayhem competed in matches associated with 5 Star Wrestling. On 15 February at the Sheffield Arena, he defeated HT Drake and Alex Young in a three-way match. The following week in Plymouth, Mayhem defeated Flash Morgan Webster in a dark match.

His Sheffield match was also reviewed by Across The Pond Wrestling in its coverage of the event.[2]

Hiatus and return

[edit]

Mayhem took a break from professional wrestling between 2020 and 2023. He returned to in-ring competition in October 2023.

Anarchy Ink

[edit]

Mayhem became a regular tag team wrestler alongside Ryan Roode as Anarchy Ink. The team competed on the British independent wrestling circuit and won championship gold together.

In 2024, Anarchy Ink became involved in a feud with Reform Wrestling, consisting of Ryan Ace and Kendoll. Mayhem and Roode competed against Reform for the Federation of Championship Wrestling (FCW) Tag Team Championship.

On 7 December 2024, Mayhem suffered a broken right collarbone during a match involving Anarchy Ink and Reform. He subsequently underwent surgery and was absent from wrestling for several months.[3]

Rapid Action Wrestling

[edit]

Mayhem returned to wrestling in 2025 following his recovery from injury. On 24 May 2025, he defeated X-Jack to win the Rapid Action Wrestling Heavyweight Championship in Blyth, Northumberland.[4]

The victory was also reported by I Love North Shields, which described Mayhem's return to the ring following his collarbone injury and his championship victory.[1]

On 19 September 2025, Mayhem defeated Brandon Prince at Nelson Village Social Club in Cramlington in a defence of the RAW Heavyweight Championship.[4]

Mayhem continued to compete as RAW Heavyweight Champion during 2026, including a match against Jonny Storm at RAW's event in Cramlington on 16 May 2026.[4]
