Draft:Madlen Jekova

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Madlen Jekova (Bulgarian: Мадлен Жекова;) is a Bulgarian business executive and entrepreneur working in agricultural market intelligence, technology, organizational development and innovation. She is the managing director of the Bulgarian System for Agro-Market Information (SAPI), a company owned by the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and the founder of Stellium Group.[1][2]

Her professional work has focused on the use of data and technology in organizational decision-making, with particular involvement in agricultural price information, digital transformation, entrepreneurship and human-centered approaches to technological change.[3]

Career

[edit]

Before moving into agricultural market information and entrepreneurship, Jekova worked in the technology and business-services sector. Forbes Bulgaria has identified Sitel, Tungsten Network, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and SolarEdge among the international companies in which she gained professional experience.[3]

She has also participated in entrepreneurship and mentoring initiatives. Teenovator has described her as a mentor with experience in international corporate management and in supporting entrepreneurs, while Mentorite has presented her work as combining data analysis, organizational development, technology and artificial intelligence.[4][5]

System for Agro-Market Information

[edit]

Jekova serves as managing director of the System for Agro-Market Information (SAPI; Bulgarian: Система за агропазарна информация), a Bulgarian state-owned company under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.[1] The Bulgarian government's Public Enterprises and Control Agency lists Jekova as the company's managing director and describes SAPI's activities as the collection, processing and dissemination of agricultural-market and veterinary-market information, market research and services related to agriculture and the food industry.[6]

SAPI monitors prices across the agricultural and food supply chain and provides market information and analyses used by agricultural producers, institutions and other market participants. In January 2026, Jekova and Bulgarian News Agency director-general Kiril Valchev signed a partnership agreement intended to expand the regular dissemination of national food-price information. BTA reported that SAPI collects information from several stages of the food chain, including producers, intermediaries, supermarkets and smaller retail outlets.[1]

As head of SAPI, Jekova has appeared in Bulgarian media commenting on food-price movements, agricultural production costs and the interpretation of market data. In 2026, Darik interviewed her about food-price developments following Bulgaria's entry into the euro area, while the agricultural publication Agri.BG interviewed her about the effects of geopolitical developments, energy and fertilizer costs on agricultural markets.[7][8]

Her work at SAPI has also included efforts connected with the digitalization of agricultural market information and the use of structured data to support decision-making in the food and agricultural sectors. At the 2023 Forbes Women Forum, she discussed projects intended to develop new forms of food-sector information, market research and digital services.[9]

Entrepreneurship and organizational development

[edit]

Jekova is the founder of Stellium Group, an initiative focused on organizational wellbeing, adaptive capacity and human performance in periods of technological change.[2] Her work in this area examines the relationship between technological transformation and the ability of individuals and organizations to adapt to changing working environments.

In 2026, she delivered a keynote address titled The AI Era Needs a New Human Operating System at Startup Europe Week Sofia, addressing the human and organizational implications of rapid artificial-intelligence adoption.[2]

She has also been associated with entrepreneurship education and mentoring initiatives. In 2026 she participated in agricultural entrepreneurship activities and served in mentoring and jury roles connected with innovation and startup development.[5]

Public engagement

[edit]

Jekova has participated in discussions concerning agricultural markets, innovation, entrepreneurship and technological transformation. At the 2023 Forbes Women Forum, she appeared in a session concerning Generation Z and the future of management and discussed the role of younger generations in business and innovation.[9]

Her public commentary on agricultural markets has emphasized the role of structured market information in distinguishing short-term price movements from longer-term changes in production costs and supply-chain conditions.[8]
