Luca Rossi is an Italian business executive serving as Executive Vice President of Lenovo Group and President of the company's Intelligent Devices Group (IDG).[1][2] He leads Lenovo's global business across personal computers, smartphones, tablets, workstations, wearables and related software.[3] The Intelligent Devices Group accounts for approximately 70 percent of Lenovo's total revenue.[4] In 2023, Rossi was included in Forbes Italy's list of 100 notable Italian managers and entrepreneurs.[5]

Early career

Rossi began his career as an entrepreneur, establishing an Italian systems integrator under the Geo Microsystems brand.[6] He later worked at ASUS as General Manager for Europe, before joining Acer, where he became President of Acer EMEA.[6][7]

Lenovo career

Rossi joined Lenovo in 2015 to lead the company's Latin American business.[6][8] His responsibilities expanded in 2016 to include Europe, the Middle East and Africa, alongside Latin America.[6][8] In April 2021, he was appointed President of Lenovo's Intelligent Devices Group and was later promoted to Executive Vice President of Lenovo Group.[1][2]

During his time leading Lenovo's Latin American business, Rossi was involved in a partnership between Lenovo and the Instituto Ayrton Senna, launched in 2019, to support education for students in Brazilian public schools. According to ABCD da Comunicação, the partnership had reached more than 1.9 million students by 2025.[9]

Views and public commentary

Rossi has commented publicly on the business and strategic implications of artificial intelligence in personal computing. In March 2026, Bloomberg journalist Vlad Savov included Rossi among executives shaping debate around AI agents, citing his view that natural-language interaction could move users away from application-based interfaces toward intent-driven computing.[10] Reuters has also covered Rossi's commentary in the context of supply-chain pressures affecting the personal computer market.[3]

In a 2023 interview with Corriere della Sera, Rossi discussed the challenges of operating across 180 markets, stating that global scale required adapting products and strategies to local conditions while maintaining a coherent brand.[11] In a 2024 interview with La Repubblica, he described a future in which voice and intent-based interaction would increasingly supplement traditional computing inputs.[12] In 2025, he told the same publication that AI-capable PCs remained in an early phase, with further development expected in personalisation and natural-language interaction.[13]

At IFA 2025, Rossi told Windows Central that he expected AI capabilities to be embedded across all PCs within five years, driven by incremental hardware advances rather than a single breakthrough application.[14] In January 2026, Lenovo's cross-device AI system Qira, announced at CES, was covered by CRN among other outlets.[15]

Recognition and public profile

In 2023, Rossi was included in Forbes Italy's annual list of 100 notable Italian managers and entrepreneurs.[5] In 2018, the Italian newsmagazine Panorama published a profile of Rossi examining the evolution of personal computing.[7]

In November 2025, the International Civil Society Organization profiled Rossi as an International Philanthropy Ambassador in a discussion about technology, sustainability and environmental considerations in product design.[16]

Rossi has delivered keynote presentations at Lenovo Tech World in 2023, 2024 and 2026.[17][18][19] He has also represented Lenovo at international technology events including CES, IFA and MWC Barcelona.[1][14][10] In Italy, he has appeared as a guest and commentator on Sky TG24's Innovatori and Radio Deejay's Deejay Chiama l'Italia.[2][20]
