[edit]London Dynamo[1] is a prominent cycling club based in southwest London[2] [3], England, affiliated with British Cycling. It focuses on performance-oriented road cycling while supporting a range of disciplines and rider levels. It was established in London in 2003.
History and Overview
[edit]Founded as a club emphasising road racing heritage, London Dynamo has developed into one of London's largest cycling organisations. It promotes rider development, performance improvement, and community engagement among cyclists of varying abilities. The club maintains a membership exceeding 700 members[4], making it one of the largest clubs in the UK. It operates primarily in southwest London and extends into Surrey, with group rides often utilising areas such as Richmond Park, the Thames Valley, the Surrey Hills and also rides into North London, Kent, the Chilterns and Essex.
It is registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club[5] with HMRC.
Activities
[edit]London Dynamo organises regular group rides, training sessions, and social events. It supports participation in:
- Road racing
- Time trials
- Track cycling
- Cyclocross
- Gravel riding
- Sportives
The club caters to diverse riders, from social and fitness-focused cyclists to those pursuing personal bests and elite-level competition. It fields a selected squad for National B-level events and runs junior programs alongside adult activities.
It hosts its own annual road race, the London Dynamo Road Race, which has incorporated South East/Central Regional Championships [6](e.g., in 2025 on a 21 km Staplefield circuit in Sussex featuring rolling terrain and climbs).
The club also conducts internal championships, such as circuit-based events at venues like Hillingdon.
London Dynamo has a strong representation of women cyclists. As of March 2025 London Dynamo had more than 100 women members [7]and a dedicated Women's Captain on the club Committee.

[edit]The club logo was trademarked (UK00004246750) by the UK Intellectual Property Office and entered in the register on the 28th November 2025. [8]
Club Kit
[edit]The latest club kit was custom designed and launched in 2026 and is manufactured by Jakroo. It has been featured in Cycling Weekly.[9]
Affiliation and Status
[edit]London Dynamo is registered with British Cycling (club ID 3105)[10] and promotes inclusivity, diversity, and accessibility for new members through an approval process.
