Laramie Dennis is an American filmmaker. She wrote and directed many short films and a feature film, Where in the Hell. In her work, Dennis uses sly humor and focuses on complex female characters.[1]
Early Life and Education
[edit]Dennis was born. Her father is the artist Michael Dennis.
Dennis graduated from Wesleyan University in 1995, majoring in English and Theatre [2]. She later, in 2010 received her MFA in Film and Television Production from USC[2][3].
Career
[edit]Between her undergraduate education and attending film school, Laramie Dennis made a career from developing and directing Off-Off Broadway plays[4]. Before converting to the screen, her professional experience in New York City included being a resident director at the Flea Theater as well as co-founding and chairing the Soho Rep Writer Director Lab at Soho Rep[2][5].
