Landmark Global is an American e-commerce logistics company headquartered in Santa Barbara, California, specializing in cross-border parcel delivery. Since 2013 it has operated as part of the Belgian postal and logistics group bpost, which renamed itself bnode in December 2025.[1][2] Within bnode's restructured brand architecture, Landmark Global is designated as the group's commercial brand for international cross-border logistics activities, alongside bpost (last-mile delivery in Belgium and the Netherlands) and paxon (third-party logistics and fulfillment).[2]
History

[edit]Landmark Global was founded in Santa Barbara, California, in 2005 by Dave Mays as a "carrier-neutral" cross-border parcel logistics and fulfillment provider, originally focused on e-commerce shipments between the United States and Canada.[1][3] The company's own promotional materials state a founding year of 2004.[4] By 2012, prior to its acquisition, the company employed more than 75 people and had handled over three million parcels in the preceding year.[1]
Acquisition by bpost (2013–2017)
[edit]On 7 January 2013, the Belgian postal operator bpost announced the acquisition of a 51 percent majority stake in Landmark Global for approximately US$10.2 million.[1][3][5] The deal was part of a broader strategy by European postal operators to offset declining domestic mail volumes by expanding into international e-commerce logistics.[1] Under the terms of the agreement, founder Dave Mays continued to lead the company.[1]
bpost subsequently increased its stake in stages: an additional 24.5 percent was acquired in January 2016 for approximately US$22.5 million, bringing bpost's ownership to 75.5 percent, and the remaining 24.5 percent was acquired in March 2017 for approximately US$33.7 million, giving bpost full ownership of the company.[6][7]
Brand consolidation and acquisitions (2014–2020)
[edit]In October 2014, bpost grouped its international e-commerce activities worldwide under the brand name "Landmark Global, a bpost company."[8]
During this period, bpost made several acquisitions that were folded into Landmark Global's operating structure. In January 2014, Landmark Global acquired the Dutch companies Gout International BV and BEurope Consultancy BV, later renamed Landmark Global (Netherlands) BV and Landmark Trade Services (Netherlands) BV, for a total consideration of approximately €5.5 million.[9] The following month, it acquired Ecom Global Distribution Ltd and Starbase Global Logistics Inc, later renamed Landmark Global (UK) Ltd and Landmark Trade Services USA, Inc.[9]
In 2016, bpost subsidiaries acquired Freight Distribution Management (FDM) in Australia for approximately €14.8 million plus contingent consideration, and the Apple Express final-mile delivery network in Canada and the United States for a total of approximately €20 million.[6] Landmark Global's UK subsidiary operated a customs-bonded facility near Heathrow Airport with dedicated security screening capability.[7] By 2017, bpost described Landmark Global as maintaining strategic locations in 11 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.[10] A 2019 planning document from the Canada Border Services Agency identified Landmark Global as accounting for the majority of commercial volume growth at Hamilton International Airport, with volumes exceeding five million shipments.[11]
By 2020, two entities had exited the network: Landmark Global (Australia) Distribution Pty Ltd was liquidated, and Landmark Global (Poland) Sp. z o.o. was renamed Radial Poland Sp. z o.o. following bpost's separate acquisition of the American fulfillment company Radial.[12]
IMX acquisition (2022)
[edit]In 2022, bpostgroup acquired a 68.59 percent stake in Marceau 1 SAS, the holding company of the French and German cross-border delivery provider IMX, for approximately €15.5 million.[13] IMX's operations were subsequently integrated into Landmark Global's European network.[13]
bnode restructuring (2025)
[edit]On 9 December 2025, bpostgroup announced it would change its corporate name to bnode, consolidating 31 historical brands into a four-brand architecture.[2][14] Under the new structure, Landmark Global was designated as the exclusive global commercial brand for the group's international cross-border logistics activities.[2]
Operations and services
[edit]Landmark Global describes itself as a "carrier-neutral" logistics provider, routing shipments through third-party delivery partners rather than operating a proprietary final-mile fleet in most markets.[15] Its services include international parcel and freight forwarding, customs brokerage and clearance (including Delivered Duty Paid and Delivered Duty Unpaid models), trade consulting, and returns management.[15] The company also provides a proprietary software platform, branded Mercury, for shipment tracking and label generation.[15]
According to company materials, Landmark Global ships to more than 220 destinations worldwide through a network of more than 75 delivery partners.[16] This figure has not been independently verified.
As of 2026, the company's published European and UK contact addresses are Brucargo Building 829 C, Machelen, Belgium, and Heathrow Logistics Park, Feltham, United Kingdom, respectively.[17]
Leadership
[edit]Dave Mays founded the company and served as its chief executive through the 2013 acquisition by bpost.[1] James Edge later served as chief executive officer of Landmark Global before being promoted to Group Chief Technology Officer of bpostgroup in January 2022.[18] Scott MacRae subsequently served as chief executive officer of Landmark Global, a position he held through at least late 2024.[19] By 2026, James Edge was again reported as chief executive officer of Landmark Global, while also serving on bnode's executive committee.[20]
