Kanapon (born June 12) is a Japanese idol, dancer and choreographer from Chiba Prefecture.

She began her career as a dancer and choreographer, participating in music videos, live performances, choreography and stage direction for various artists before starting her activities as an idol. She has been active as a member of TOYZ, Advance Arc Harmony and INDIVIDUAL PLATE, and later began performing as a solo idol.

Since 2023, she has also expanded her activities overseas, particularly in India, appearing at Japanese cultural and anime-related events such as Japan Habba, Mela! Mela! Anime Japan!! and Ōta TOKYO. Since 2024, she has also been active in the performance unit NM (Nanometer) with Erisuko.

Dance and choreography career

Kanapon began studying dance seriously at the age of 18, training in ballet, jazz dance, hip-hop, tap dance and animation dance. She later worked as a theme park performer.[1]

After leaving the theme park, she studied animation dance and became a member of the female animation dance team Geisha, led by choreographer and dance artist NANOI.[2]

As a dancer, she has participated in music videos and live performances by artists including PUFFY, Ken Matsudaira, GLAY, Hyadain, Momoiro Clover Z, Charisma.com, Wednesday Campanella, Generations from Exile Tribe, SHE IS SUMMER and Creepy Nuts.[2]

She has also worked as a choreographer, choreography assistant and staging assistant for artists including NGT48, Tsubaki Factory, Angerme, Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku, Frederic, Wednesday Campanella and Creepy Nuts.[2]

In 2015, she represented the Kanto region in the Cho DANCE@HERO competition linked to TV Tokyo's Cho Ryuuha, and placed second in a RUNUP! DANCE CONTEST 2015 Grand Prix Final qualifier.[1]

Idol career

In 2017, Kanapon participated in SUPER IDOL AUDITION 2017. She later became active as a member of TOYZ and performed at the OTONOVA 2018 Grand Prix Final on June 2, 2018. TOYZ and the unit 99999 later formed the basis of the idol group Advance Arc Harmony.[3]

On November 14, 2018, she performed with TOYZ at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo during OTONOVA FES. go to 2019. Advance Arc Harmony was announced on the same day.[3]

In Advance Arc Harmony, she served as leader and was involved in choreography. The group made its major debut on January 9, 2019 with "Ima, Kimi to Ikiteru".[2]

In November 2019, she joined the second generation of INDIVIDUAL PLATE.[4]

She held her first solo one-man live, "Utae! 3D Kanapon! ~Minna de Chanto Dekiru Kana?~", at Live Space Marie-Lou on February 27, 2021.[5]

Overseas activities

Since 2023, Kanapon has expanded her activities overseas, particularly in India.

In 2023, she appeared at Japan Habba 2023 in Bengaluru. MAITSU reported that more than 300 people gathered after the event for autographs and photographs.[6]

She also performed at the Japanese restaurant Harima in Bengaluru and held a solo live show there. Her official profile states that the show sold out.[1]

In September 2024, she appeared at Mela! Mela! Anime Japan!! 2024 in New Delhi.[7]

In November 2024, she appeared at Chennai Japan Expo 2024 in Chennai. The Consulate-General of Japan in Chennai listed "Idol Kanapon" among the music-stage performers.[8]

In 2025, she appeared at Japan Habba 2025 both as a solo performer and as a member of NM. She also performed a collaboration stage with Kannada film music director Gurukiran.[9]

In 2026, she appeared at Ōta TOKYO Bengaluru.[10]

NM (Nanometer)

In 2024, Kanapon formed the two-member performance unit NM (Nanometer) with Erisuko.

The unit performed at Japan Habba 2025, where the event's official website described the appearance as NM's first overseas live performance.[9]

Personal life

Kanapon was born in Chiba Prefecture on June 12. She is 144.4 cm tall and has blood type B.[2]

Her penlight color is green.

She is known for animation dance and robot dance, and is characterized by an energetic performance style despite her small stature.
