Justin Minton is an American political consultant, stand-up comedian, basketball coach, and former actor based in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has worked in Republican politics for more than two decades, serving as a campaign consultant, field director, lobbyist, and government affairs professional on federal, state, and local political campaigns, ballot initiatives, and public policy efforts throughout the western United States. Alongside his political career, Minton has performed stand-up comedy in Las Vegas and has coached high school and club basketball for nearly twenty years.

Early life and Education

Minton was born in Orange County, California, and was raised in Calaveras County in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California. He grew up in the town of San Andreas and graduated from Calaveras High School in 2000, where he was active in athletics and theater. During high school, he was voted "Class Clown" and portrayed Danny Zuko in a production of Grease.

After graduation, he attended Columbia College in Sonora, California, where he played collegiate basketball before relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2004. He later studied political science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Politics

Following his move to Las Vegas, Minton entered Republican politics, working on campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels. Over the course of more than twenty years, he has held campaign management, field operations, public affairs, and government relations roles for candidates, political organizations, advocacy groups, and ballot initiative campaigns.

His work has included campaign strategy, grassroots organizing, voter outreach, coalition building, fundraising, legislative advocacy, and government relations. He has also served as a registered lobbyist representing business, nonprofit, healthcare, and public policy interests before state legislatures and local governments.

In addition to campaign consulting, Minton has worked in business development and public affairs within the healthcare, nonprofit, and private sectors.

Basketball

Outside politics, Minton has coached basketball in Southern Nevada for nearly two decades. He has coached at the high school varsity and club levels, working with numerous youth and scholastic programs.

He previously coached with the Tarkanian Basketball Academy and has also coached for several Las Vegas-area club basketball organizations. He currently serves as a coach at Coral Academy of Las Vegas, where he continues mentoring student-athletes while emphasizing leadership, discipline, and academic achievement.

Entertainment

Minton began performing stand-up comedy after moving to Las Vegas in 2004. He has appeared at comedy venues throughout Southern Nevada while maintaining his work in politics and public affairs.

Earlier in his career, he pursued acting and appeared in several film and television productions, including recurring appearances on Dog the Bounty Hunter and roles in 21 and Convincing Clooney. According to his IMDb biography, he was introduced to acting through actor Robert Conrad, who encouraged him to audition for an unproduced television pilot.
