Websitejupitermusicawards.com

The Jupiter Music Awards (JMA) are annual music awards organized by the Asian Television Awards (ATA) to recognize music artists and recorded works. The awards were launched in 2024 as an extension of the Asian Television Awards, with a focus on music performers and music content that the organizers considered outside the scope of the ATA's existing television categories.[1]

The awards are primarily determined through fan voting conducted across partner platforms. The inaugural edition had five categories, while the second edition expanded to 11 categories covering individual artists, groups, rookies, songs, albums, collaborations, music videos and Mandopop artists.[2] The third edition in 2026 expanded further to include regional categories for influential Southeast Asian and Mandopop artists.[3]

History

[edit]

2024: Inaugural edition

[edit]

The Jupiter Music Awards were launched by the Asian Television Awards in September 2024. The organizers described the awards as an extension of the ATA intended to recognize music performers and professionals involved in music content production.[1]

The inaugural awards consisted of five categories: Most Popular Solo Performer – Male, Most Popular Solo Performer – Female, Most Popular Duo/Group, Hottest Trending Rookie and Most Popular Dance Performer.[1] Winners were determined entirely through public voting on My1Pick, with a preliminary round followed by a final round.[1]

More than 1.6 million votes were recorded during the first edition.[4] Lee Chan-won received Most Popular Solo Performer – Male, Salma Salsabil won Most Popular Solo Performer – Female, BTS received Most Popular Duo/Group, Anggis Devaki won Hottest Trending Rookie and BINI received Most Popular Dance Performer.[5]

The awards had originally been scheduled for presentation during the 29th Asian Television Awards in Jakarta, Indonesia. The organizers later stated that most recipients were unable to attend, with some trophies presented off-air and the remaining awards delivered directly to winners.[5]

2025: Category expansion

[edit]

For the second edition, the number of categories increased from five to 11. The awards also expanded from a single voting partner to eight platforms, including My1Pick, Mubeat, Fancast, Muniverse, Picnic!, QQ Music, KuGou and KuWo.[2]

The 2025 competition included Male Artiste of the Year, Female Artiste of the Year, Male Group of the Year, Female Group of the Year, two rookie categories and four awards for recorded works, alongside Most Influential Mandopop Artiste.[2]

The final round attracted approximately 600,000 participating fans and 30 million votes.[6]

Among the recipients, V won Male Artiste of the Year, Winter received Female Artiste of the Year, NCT Dream won Male Group of the Year and BINI received Female Group of the Year.[6] BINI's win was also reported by Billboard Philippines, which noted that the category was decided through fan voting.[7]

The second Jupiter Music Awards were presented in conjunction with the 30th Asian Television Awards at Emtek Studio City in Jakarta on November 29, 2025.[6]

2026

[edit]

The third Jupiter Music Awards expanded its voting network and regional scope. My1Pick entered its third consecutive year as an official voting partner, while multiple platforms were used to aggregate votes from different markets.[8]

The edition included categories for Most Influential Southeast Asian Artiste – Male and Most Influential Southeast Asian Artiste – Female, alongside categories for Mandopop artists and the existing performance and recording awards.[3] Indonesian artists including Lesti and Afgan were among the Southeast Asian nominees, while Philippine acts including BINI, BGYO, Maki, Belle Mariano and Angela Ken also appeared in the regional categories.[3]

Voting was conducted through preliminary, semifinal and final rounds, with votes consolidated across the participating official platforms.[9]

The third Jupiter Music Awards are scheduled to be held alongside the 31st Asian Television Awards in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on November 13 and 14, 2026. The combined ceremonies are scheduled for broadcast through television and digital platforms across the Asia-Pacific region.[10]

Voting and selection

[edit]

The Jupiter Music Awards use public voting to determine award recipients. During the inaugural edition, voting was conducted exclusively through My1Pick and consisted of preliminary and final rounds.[1]

The voting system expanded in 2025 to eight official platforms. Performance and production categories were voted on through platforms including Mubeat, My1Pick, Muniverse, Fancast and Picnic!, while Mandopop voting also incorporated Chinese music services such as QQ Music, KuGou and KuWo.[11]

For the 2026 edition, voting was divided into preliminary, semifinal and final stages. The highest-ranked candidates across the official platforms advanced between rounds, with vote totals reset before each subsequent stage.[9]
