This draft's references do not show that the subject meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for music. The draft requires either:

evidence that the subject meets any of the specific criteria for music;

or multiple published secondary sources that:

provide significant coverage: discuss the subject in detail, not just brief mentions or routine announcements;
are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight;
are independent: not connected to the subject, such as interviews, press releases, the subject's own website, or sponsored content.

Please add references that meet these criteria. If none exist, the subject is not yet suitable for Wikipedia.

It is often easier to prove the notability of an album or artist than an individual song or band member. If the subject is not yet notable, consider improving a relevant existing article instead.

If you would like to continue working on the submission, click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.
If you have not resolved the issues listed above, your draft will be declined again and potentially deleted.

Jose Pineiro (born March 11, 1991) is an American Jazz saxophonist based in Gainesville, Florida. He is the leader of the Jose Pineiro Trio, a Free jazz ensemble and Dionysus a Jazz fusion group.

Career

Pineiro was born in 1991 in Gainesville, Florida and is of Puerto Rican decent. He attended Buchholz High School^[1] where there was a strong music culture especially curated for Jazz. Pineiro next enrolled in Santa Fe College^[2] where he would meet key influential musician in the Gainesville music scene. In 2011 he joined The Duppies, a Rocksteady Ska 7 piece that toured regularly. Through touring he would open for The Slackers^[3], Barenaked Ladies, The Suicide Machines, The Wailers Band, and many others eventually finding a mentor in Dave Hillyard.

All the while Pineiro explored different genres of music. He would join a multitude of side projects and bands. If Pineiro was not touring the East Coast of the United States he was consistently picking up gig as a gun for hire horn player. It was one of these for hire positions that he toured Europe with The Soul Radics in 2017.

In late 2017 Pineiro departed ways from The Duppies due to personal reasons and eventually took a hiatus from musical performance for close to two years in a journey to find himself. Mid 2019 he was pivotal in the creation of the group Dionysus . Not only was this his re-entry into Jazz but this band cultivated a Jazz Fusion scene in the greater Gainesville music scene.

Performing at events like Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival^[4], Hulaween^[5], Florida Groves, and Resonate Suwannee matured their musical direction and eventually lead to their 2022 EP Chrysalis and 2025 full length album Eclosion.

The Jose Pineiro Trio was formed in 2025 around Pineiro's work in the exploration of jazz through improvisation and ensemble interaction. He continues to experiment to find his voice in free jazz.
