Jonathan Disbrow is an American architect and co-founding principal of Disbrow Iannuzzi Architects, an architecture firm based in Ferndale, Michigan.[1][2][3]
Education
[edit]Disbrow earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Master of Architecture from Cranbrook Academy of Art.[4]
Career
[edit]Disbrow joined Rossetti in 2012 where he was a Principal and the Director of Architecture.[5][6][7] During his tenure, he was lead designer and principal on projects including the retractable roof for Arthur Ashe Stadium[6] and Louis Armstrong Stadium[8] (both at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center), Ariens Hill and the public spaces at TitleTown in Green Bay,[9][10] and Hinterland Brewery and Restaurant.[5]
Disbrow later joined AECOM as Vice President and U.S. West Regional Design Director for Buildings + Places.[11]
In 2024, Disbrow co-founded Disbrow Iannuzzi Architects with David Iannuzzi.[2]
Teaching and professional leadership
[edit]Disbrow has taught architecture studios at the University of Michigan, Lawrence Technological University, and the University of Cincinnati. In 2024, he served as the Orville Simpson Visiting Professor of Architecture at the University of Cincinnati.[12]
He served on the Board of Directors of AIA Detroit from 2012 to 2018 and was President of the organization in 2017.[13][14]
Awards and honors
[edit]In 2025, Forbes named Disbrow to its America's Best-In-State Residential Architects and America's Top Residential Architects lists.[1] Additionally, his design work has been recognized with numerous awards, including several from the American Institute of Architects and the UNESCO Prix Versailles.[15][16]
