Joel Ntale Kabugi (born August 25, 2008) is a Congolese basketball player. He plays as a point guard and shooting guard and was trained at the NBA Academy Africa.

Early life and education

Kabugi was born in Goma, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where he began playing basketball at a young age. He was later selected to join the NBA Academy Africa, an elite training center supported by the National Basketball Association and based in Saly, Senegal.

According to Capital News Service, he was among the youngest players in the academy at the time of his enrollment.[1]

While at NBA Academy Africa, Kabugi participated in several international development events, including the NBA Academy Games and the Jr. NBA Showcase.[2]

According to the official NBA website, he was listed among standout players at the Jr. NBA Showcase.[3]

United States

Kabugi later moved to the United States, where he plays for The St. James Performance Academy in Virginia.

He competes in the EYBL Scholastic circuit (Nike Elite Youth Basketball League), one of the top high school basketball circuits in the United States.[4][5]

According to MaxPreps, he plays as a guard and wears number 23.[6]

Kabugi is described as a versatile backcourt player capable of playing both guard positions. He is known for his athleticism, ability to attack the basket, and defensive activity.
