Joseph (Joe) Bradstock is an Irish Semi-Professional Footballer (born 12 September 2007) who played as a Central Midfielder most recently for Milton Keynes City FC[1] (Senior Level). Currently Bradstock plays for Milton Keynes Dons 'A'[2] in the CEFA League South East Third Division, Denbigh School and MK City at differing youth levels (U18/U19)

Bradstock in his youth career has featured in games at Academy Level for his birth town team, MK Dons, as well as Northampton Town and Kettering Town. The young Midfielder has also made Men's (Senior) level appearances for multiple teams from the age of 16

As well as Academy Football, Bradstock has played pre-academy and grassroots football over his youth years, winning multiple titles and personal awards at various levels over the years. In a league winning season with Woburn & Wavendon Lions FC, he was involved in 71 Goals across 18 games and 97 Goals for the team in total.[3] Scoring 35 Goals and getting himself 36 Assists, helping his team win the league title in one of two full seasons he would play with the side as he moved on in his youth career

Early Life

[edit]

Joseph (Joe) Bradstock was born in Milton Keynes, England on 12 September 2007 where he was also raised. He has Irish heritage through his father's side as well as German through his mother's. This Irish heritage is what Bradstock identifies with, stating 'I feel Irish and i'm proud of my heritage'. Regularly visiting Cork, where his family originates from, Bradstock is a proud follower of Cork City FC, but he is a well known Liverpool fan, following in the footsteps of his father, Lincoln, who followed his grandad, a native scouser, also one of the many Irishmen on the side of the family. Being lucky enough to watch many Liverpool games over his life, Bradstock has always had the dream to play for Liverpool when he's older

As well as being a Liverpool fan and revolving his life around Football, Bradstock has been lucky enough to visit many countries over his life, most notably visiting Orlando, United States of America, and Marrakech, Morocco

Youth Career (Grassroots)

[edit]

Woburn & Wavendon FC

Joe Bradstock started his Football career at Woburn & Wavendon FC at 5 years of age for the 2013/14 U6s season playing in the local Milton Keynes leagues, the Milton Keynes & Districts Development League (MKDDL).[4] Bradstock played for the Hurricanes for 4 seasons from 2013 to 2017 being coached by his father, playing with players around him whom have also moved onto Academy Football themselves. During his time at the Hurricanes, Bradstock was a prolific scorer, with his 'scoop' shooting technique being very useful at such a young age. Having his own shooting technique, for the first few years of his career, Bradstock was a Striker, unlike the Central Midfield position he plays in nowadays

After 4 seasons with the club, Bradstock joined the other Woburn & Wavendon team at the club, the Whirlwinds. A team who from the U6 (2013/14) season, had won the MKDDL Division 1 league title every season before his transfer to the side. After dual signing for Northampton Town for the upcoming season, Bradstock bought even more improved skills to the side with his higher level of experience than some of the players in his new side. Joining the team however, the quality of the league improved for the upcoming 2017/18 league season and the Whirlwinds finished second in the league to the improved Central Milton Keynes FC. However, in his second and final full season with the Whirlwinds, Bradstock won his first ever League Title in the 2018/19 MKDDL Division 1 Season,[5] an extremely positive season for the now Central Midfielder, who also dual signed for Kettering Town at the start of the 2019 season, after leaving the MK Dons Pre-Academy and trialing for Leicester City at the same level

Midway through the 2019/20 season, an argument between parents and coaches saw a rift form between said parents and coaches, seeing multiple players leave the team in the January Transfer Period. Bradstock ended up back at his former team in the Hurricanes, due to the late nature of the leaving and how far in the Transfer Period the falling out of the team happened. Bradstock made his debut in a MKDDL League Plate Semi Final against Aspley Guise FC, playing as an Attacking Midfielder, Bradstock scored a hat trick and recorded an assist in a 4-2 after extra time win to progress to the final, a game that would never be played due to the COVID-19 Pandemic forcing a global Lockdown. Once Football resumed the following season, the Hurricanes won the 2020/21 MKDDL U13 Division 5 league title unbeaten, winning 17 out of 18 games (recording one draw) and scoring 97 goals as a team, Bradstock himself scored 35 and assisted 36 in a phenomenal season for the side. This dominance of the league saw the Hurricanes promoted two divisions for the 2021/22 Season, where they earned themselves back to back promotions after finishing in second, only 3 points behind League Champions Emerson Valley FC (later MK City FC). Over 21 games, the Hurricanes were able to record 51 points, with Emerson Valley on 54, with the next best placed team, third placed Moretonville Juniors, finishing on 32 points. Following success over the least 2 seasons, a change in management occurred at the Hurricanes, seeing Evan's depart for the incoming Ellis, a move that would sum up the 2022/23 season before it had even begun

A poor response from the team and players to the change in management saw a lacklustre pre-season and start of the season for the team, losing 8-1 on the opening day to eventual League Champions City Colts FC. Loss after loss, along with an injury to Bradstock, red cards for players throughout the team and overall poor squad morale saw the Hurricanws finish Sixth Place out of the Seven teams competing in the league season.
