IRIDEOS S.p.A. was an Italian telecommunications company.

Founded in 2018 from the transformation of MC-link, in 2024 it was merged into Retelit.

History

[edit]

F2i Fondi Italiani per le Infrastrutture, born in 2007 on the initiative of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, the system of banking foundations, UniCredit and Intesa Sanpaolo, is an Italian asset management company. It is the largest Italian independent manager of infrastructure funds, with approximately 5 billion euros in assets under management.[2][3]

In 2017, F2i invested in telecommunications when, in consortium with the Marguerite fund, it first acquired Infracom and subsequently MC-link, KPNQwest Italia and Enter, aiming to create an information and communication technology hub dedicated to businesses and the public administration.[4][5][6]

In August 2018, from the merger of the companies, Irideos was born. On 2 November 2020, Irideos incorporated the sixth operator Clouditalia.[7][8] In 2022, the Spanish fund Asterion Industrial Partners acquired the majority of its shares.[9]

On 1 August 2024, it was merged by incorporation into Retelit Digital Services.[10]
