Inprocess Technology and Consulting Group, S.L.U. (also known as Inprocess) is an international company founded in 2006 and headquarted in Barcelona, Spain. It’s an engineering company that provides simulation-based services for the hydrocarbon and chemical processing industries, including operator training simulators (OTS), process digital twins, dynamic simulation studies, flare system analysis and flow assurance studies, among others. Inprocess works with clients in different sectors of the industry such as oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals, chemicals, fertilizers, carbon capture and renewable energy.[1] [2]

History

[edit]

Inprocess was established in Barcelona in 2006 as a specialized engineering consultancy focused on process simulation technologies. In the following years, Inprocess expanded internationally till achieving presence in Spain, United States, Malaysia, Brazil, Emirates and India.

In 2025, the company reported approximately 165 professionals and accounted revenues exceeding €15 million.

In February 2026, the Portuguese engineering and consulting group Quadrante acquired Inprocess as part of its strategy to expand its digital twin and process simulation section. Following the acquisition, Inprocess maintained their own management and became part of Quadrante’s “digital twins” portfolio.[3] [4]

Projects covered by independent sources

[edit]

In 2022, the Japanese supplier and operator MODEC, awarded Inprocess the development of an Emulated Operator Training Simultor (OTS) for a new Brazilian FPSO vessel bound. This project was the sixth MODEC operated FPSO using an Inprocess’ OTS.[5]

In 2026, Stockholm Exergi, the Swedish energy company, started a project to build a facility capable of capturing up to 800,000 tonnes of biogenic CO₂ per year. To support plant operation, the company selected in March 2026 Inprocess for the development of an Operator Training Simulator (OTS) for this facility, Beccs Stokholm.[6][7]

Industry participation

[edit]

Inprocess has participated in international technical conferences related to process simulation, such as OPTIMIZE, ADIPEC or FPSO Brazil. In 2026, Inprocess was Foundation Partner at the FPSO World Congress. [8]
