Comment: Remove the excessive citations. One, maybe two, sources are all that is needed to support a fact. Any more than that is excessive. S0091 (talk) 19:24, 25 September 2026 (UTC)

ImmunityBio, Inc. is a U.S.-based biotechnology company headquartered in San Diego, California.[1] The company develops immunotherapies, cell therapies, and vaccine-based platforms for cancer and infectious diseases.[1][2][3] It was founded in 2014 by Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong and trades on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol IBRX.[3]
History
[edit]ImmunityBio was established in 2014 by Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, as a subsidiary of NantWorks, previously known as NantCell, to develop immunotherapies based on immune activation and cellular immune memory.[3][4] In early 2021, ImmunityBio merged with NantKwest, also founded by Dr. Soon-Shiong.[3][4] The combined company adopted the ImmunityBio name and began trading on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol IBRX.[3][4][5]
On April 22, 2024, the company received FDA approval for Anktiva, its first commercial product.[6][7][8][9]
Richard Adcock serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of ImmunityBio and is a member of the board of directors.[2]
Research
[edit]ImmunityBio’s research includes interleukin-15-based immunotherapies, natural killer cell therapies, and adenovirus-based vaccine platforms. With the exception of Anktiva’s approved use in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, the company’s other candidates and proposed uses remain investigational.[6][7][8][5][9][10]
