IBS Classical is a Spanish classical music record label founded in 2011 by Francisco “Paco” Moya and Gloria Medina in Granada, Spain.[1] The label publishes recordings of solo, chamber, orchestral, vocal, operatic, early-music and contemporary repertoire.
History
[edit]IBS Classical was established in Granada in 2011 by Paco Moya and Gloria Medina. Both were associated with the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Granada before developing the label as a recording and production project.[2][3]
By the mid-2020s, the label had built a catalogue of more than 300 albums, covering repertoire from early music to contemporary works.[4] Its releases have included recordings by Spanish and international performers, ensembles and orchestras.
Catalogue and artists
[edit]The catalogue of IBS Classical includes solo instrumental recordings, chamber music, orchestral music, opera, vocal music, early music and contemporary composition. The label has also released recordings devoted to Spanish musical heritage and new works by Spanish, European and Latin American composers.[5]
Artists and ensembles associated with the label have included Josu De Solaun, Asier Polo, Juan Pérez Floristán, José Menor, Ana Valderrama, José Luis Estellés, Iñaki Alberdi, Trío Arbós, La Tempestad, Musique des Lumières, the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra, the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra and the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra.
Recognition
[edit]Recordings released by IBS Classical have received recognition from international classical music organizations and publications. In 2023, Haydn: Piano Sonatas, performed by Josu De Solaun and released by IBS Classical, won the International Classical Music Award in the Solo Instrument category.[6]
In 2024, Falla: Corregidor & Sombrero, recorded by the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra and released by IBS Classical, won the award for Best Classical Album at the Premios de la Academia de la Música de España.[7]
