i-ESG Inc. (Korean: 아이이에스지) is a South Korean software company that develops cloud-based software for collecting, managing, analyzing and reporting environmental, social and governance (ESG) data. It began in 2022 as an in-house venture of POSCO International and became an independent company the same year.[1] The company is headquartered in Seoul and has entities in Abu Dhabi and Singapore. It is a participant in the United Nations Global Compact and a certified B Corporation.[2][3]

History

i-ESG was launched in January 2022 as an in-house venture of POSCO International.[4] It was spun off as an independent company later in 2022.[1]

In January 2023 the company received seed funding from the venture capital firm SpringCamp.[5] In March 2023 it was recognized as a social venture by South Korea's Ministry of SMEs and Startups,[6] and in May 2023 it opened a government-certified corporate research institute.[7] In August 2023 it was selected for TIPS, a South Korean government program for technology startups,[8] and joined the United Nations Global Compact.[2]

In February 2025 i-ESG was certified as a B Corporation.[3][9] In March 2025 it raised a Series A round led by Envisioning Partners, with SpringCamp participating.[10][11]

In November 2025 the company and UN Global Compact Network Korea launched ASAP, an AI-based sustainability assessment platform for companies participating in the Global Compact.[12][13] In July 2025 it ran a simulation program for a climate change simulation contest organized by South Korea's 2050 Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth Commission, and in July 2026 it held a data-based climate change simulation seminar at the invitation of the same body, renamed the Presidential Commission on Climate Crisis Response.[14][15]

In April 2024 i-ESG signed a memorandum of understanding with Nuvix to cooperate on digital ESG solutions.[16] In September 2025 it signed an agreement with the Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA) to develop AI-based ESG assessment services.[17] In November 2025 it launched an integrated ESG assessment and verification service with the certification body Control Union Korea.[18] In February 2026 it signed a memorandum of understanding with Sustinvest, a South Korean ESG research and rating firm.[19]

i-ESG has exhibited at GITEX in Dubai each year from 2023 to 2025.[20] In December 2024 it established a joint venture in Abu Dhabi with the local firm Nexus Global.[1][21] According to the company, it was invited at the same time as a private-sector digital ESG solution provider to cooperation between the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Global Green Growth Institute.[22]

In 2025 it was selected for the innovation accelerator of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund, run by the UAE Ministry of Finance, and took part in the program's tenth cohort demo day.[23][24] In November 2025 it exhibited at ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi as part of a pavilion organized by KOSA.[25]

In June 2025 the company took part in a panel on green fintech at the Nexus Luxembourg conference,[26][27] and in August 2025 it was named to the Catapult: Green Fintech 2025 cohort of the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT).[28]

Asia-Pacific and North America

In September 2024 i-ESG was invited to a startup session of the 45th joint meeting of the Australia-Korea and Korea-Australia Business Councils.[29] In January 2025 it exhibited at CES 2025 in Las Vegas in the pavilion of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency.[30] In November 2025 it exhibited at the SWITCH 2025 innovation event in Singapore,[31] and in December 2025 it set up a subsidiary there.[32] In August 2026 its chief executive spoke at Forward Faster Now | APAC 2026, a UN Global Compact event in Colombo, Sri Lanka.[33][34]

Products

The company's main product is an AI-powered ESG data management solution, organized into four groups of tools:[35]

  • Compliance tools: AI-powered ESG readiness assessment, materiality assessment, and sustainability reporting and disclosure.
  • AI-native tools: AI-native Reporting, which drafts sustainability reports with AI, and FactTrace AI, which checks the claims in sustainability reports against their source evidence.[36]
  • Data management tools: an ESG data management system, ESG risk management for supply chains, and carbon tracking and monitoring (CTMS). In 2026 CTMS was updated to cover all 15 categories of Scope 3 emissions.[37]
  • ESG intelligence tools: i-Sector Alpha, a sector-level ESG data analysis platform,[38] and ESG data products.

The company also provides AI and digital transformation (AX/DX) consulting for ESG.[39]

According to the company, its platform is built on more than 20 million ESG data records and 13 or more technology patents,[14][15] and it holds ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 9001 certifications.[15] In 2025 it reported more than 25 paying corporate clients,[1] and it states that its platform is used by more than 500 companies.[35]
