humAIn is an American scripted horror anthology streaming television series created and written by film producer Griff Furst. The series premiered exclusively on YouTube on June 6, 2026, following a six-week alternate reality game marketing campaign.[1][2] It is produced by New Power Studios.
Premise
[edit]humAIn is structured as an anthology, with each self-contained episode following a different protagonist, often an internet creator or digital-native professional, who encounters technology made by the fictional company humAIn at the moment they believe it will solve their most pressing problem. In each case the product works exactly as promised; the horror derives not from the technology malfunctioning but from what its use reveals about the person.[1][3] Within the fiction, humAIn presents itself as a company that has been integrating artificial intelligence into human beings since 1967, using the tagline "Where you end, we begin."[1]

Production
[edit]The series was created and written by Griff Furst, a film producer whose credits include more than 40 feature films, among them Devil's Peak, 57 Seconds, Alice, Brothers Under Fire and Universal's Tales from the Hood trilogy.[1][3] It was directed by Brett Simmons and produced by New Power Studios.[1]
Marketing
[edit]humAIn launched through a six-week alternate reality game in which the production built an in-character corporate presence across multiple platforms, including a website, social media accounts, job listings and Reddit threads, before revealing that the company and its products were fictional.[2][4] A community of participants tracked and decoded the campaign in real time through Discord and Reddit.[2]
Reception
[edit]In an interview with Bionic Buzz, Furst discussed the series' use of a fictional AI company and its YouTube-first, ARG-driven distribution model.[4] Programming Insider covered the project as an example of YouTube-first storytelling by an established Hollywood producer.[3] The Edinburgh-based outlet Tychy published a review of the series.[5]
