Glorious Luna is the stage name of Suruj Rajkhowa.[1], Glorious Luna is the stage name of Suruj Rajkhowa, an Indian drag performer, model, and actor.[2][3][4]
Rajkhowa, originally from Assam, India, has worked in the modelling industry for over 15 years[5] During their career, they have appeared at fashion events including Lakmé Fashion Week and Blenders Pride Glassware Fashion NXT, and have worked with designers such as Gaurav Gupta, Vivienne Westwood, Tarun Tahiliani, and Amit Aggarwal.[6][7]
Performing under the stage name Glorious Luna, Rajkhowa has worked in live performance, visual media, and nightlife. They have participated in queer events and initiatives including IT Ball and The Death Gala, which have been held at venues such as Soho House and antiSOCIAL (Mumbai).[8][9][10][11]. Their performances incorporate costume, makeup, and character-based storytelling[12], situating drag as both artistic expression and cultural commentary[13][14].
Rajkhowa has been associated with the drag collective Haus of Luna and has participated in editorial photography and digital campaigns featuring drag performance and fashion.[15] [16][17]
Their work has been featured in fashion and lifestyle publications.[18] Rajkhowa was included in the Grazia Cool List 2023[19] and has also been recognized through the GQ Cool List, as a jury member for the Elle Beauty Awards, Vogue Best Dressed, and Icon of the Year.[20] [21]
Alongside queer activist Nin Kala, Rajkhowa co-founded Current Management, an agency representing queer talent in the art and fashion industries.[22],According to the founders, the agency was established to address the limited representation and professional opportunities available to LGBTQIA+ creatives in mainstream media.[23][24]
Rajkhowa identifies as non-binary.[25]Their work has been covered by publications including Elle India, Grazia India, Vogue India, and Femina.[26][27]
